Conflict of Minerals Statement

JMK is working to become compliant with HR 4173 (the Dodd-Frank law), specifically with regard to section 1502 – Conflict Minerals. As you probably are aware, beginning May 31, 2014, many of our customers began reporting the use of minerals sourced in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or an adjoining country. The minerals affected are gold, tin, tantalum, tungsten, and cobalt. Our products may contain small amounts of gold and tin.

The following are the steps being taken by JMK to determine the extent of gold or tin in our products, as well as the steps which JMK will use to eliminate the minerals from being procured from the above locations.

1. COMPANY OVERVIEW

JMK is a manufacturer of several electronic/electrical devices. The primary products are EMI/EMC power line filters. Secondary products are power supplies, audio amplifiers and power distribution control modules. JMK designs and manufactures these products in the United States and Mexico. JMK, Inc. was incorporated in 1975 in Amherst, New Hampshire. Our principal offices are located at 15 Caldwell Drive, Amherst, NH 03031. JMK sells products through distribution, independent representatives and direct OEM’s. JMK products are used in commercial, military, medical and almost any end products requiring compliance with various EMC control specifications.

2. CONFLICT MINERALS GUIDELINES

A.   JMK does not directly purchase any tin, tantalum, tungsten or gold.
B.   JMK has reviewed our suppliers and determined that at this time. There are 21 suppliers which may use those minerals in material being supplied.
C.   JMK has requested copies of each supplier’s Conflict Minerals Statement. Upon receipt, each will be reviewed to assure no product is procured from the DRC; The Covered Countries or Conflict Region.
D.   Any supplier that does procure minerals from those regions will be reviewed to determine if an alternate source is available. If not, JMK will discuss the issue with our customer to determine the possibility of using a substitute item.
E.   Copies of the suppliers’ statements are available from JMK.
F.   This report will be updated to include any new sources which may be required as new designs of JMK products are added.
G.   It should be noted that the ultimate requirement for compliance remains with the provider of material being procured by JMK.
